I could not have been more grateful to have my dear friend by my side for the 1st leg of my Minnesota adventure. I swear I couldn’t keep my eyes open and we weren’t even to Jacksonville… Marianne took the wheel and we were at Lance and Fletcher’s beautiful welcoming home in no time.So Grateful❣️Fletcher made us a delicious breakfast and sent me on my way… I am so lucky to have such Fabulous Friends 💕
I left Marianne in good hands in NOLA and made it on my own to Cape Girardeau, MO in about 8 1/2 hours and stayed in a comfy cozy hotel off the highway…the bed was so wonderful I woke up completely invigorated and ready for my 3rd leg of my U-Haul journey. In about 9 1/2 hours I had made a reservation in Faribault MN in a neat place and I fell in love with the pics of the place…
I thought after all the driving I’d been doing, that bathtub in the room was going to be divine… I pulled in around 11:30 at after being sent on the craziest path, completely off the highway and through all these farm towns, I wasn’t getting cell service and was kind of freaking out.Shooting Star Scenic Bywy was like the Twilight Zone.
When I went into check-in I wasn’t feeling like the pictures of the place I fell in love with were legit 🤔 When I got to the room, I about faced (It was filthy 🤮) and went back to the front desk for a refund and it was a pain in the ass working with them saying it was non-refundable, but believe me I left with a refund, by then it was 12:30 am and I was exhausted and not paying for a $200 room for another hotel, and there at Exit 11 was a nifty 24 Rest Stop, and I pulled in, in the well lit lot. The U-Haul had a sun shade for the windshield, I wasn’t sure if the wording was particularly smart for a Rest Stop (nod,nod,wink,wink)
It even had curtains 🤗I woke up early and surprisingly refreshed and took off for my 3 hour and 20 minute ride to my storage unit to unpack my 44 years of memories… crazy enough everything fit perfectly into this 10 x 10 unitAs I was unpacking this page fell out of a book and it warmed my heart and calmed my nerves of the huge move I am making…Perfect 🤗
